Netoge no Yome, also known as And you thought there is Never a Girl Online?, is a light novel series written by Shibai Kineko and illustrated by Hisasi. The story revolves around Hideki Nishimura, an avid gamer who falls in love with an in-game avatar named Ako, whom he believes to be a male player. However, he later discovers that Ako is a girl in his own school and is part of a school club called the Net Game Club.
Together with Ako and other club members, Hideki navigates through online and offline relationships in a comedic and heartwarming story about the connection between real-life and virtual identities. The series has also been adapted into a manga and anime featuring thirteen episodes aired in April 2016.
